Somersaults are lots of fun

Tonight we had a lot of fun at home after work.

Michelle was holding Matthew and playing. She said "Mama's boy" and Matthew immediately said "No. Dada's boy". Needless to say that made me smile.

We were playing on the floor and I asked Matthew if he wanted to do a somersault. He got into the stance and did one all by himself!!!! - I have to say, I love this new camera that will take 3 pictures per second!

1-2-3-4-8 and that's how we count!

Today Matthew was playing with one of his toys that counts. He heard it say the number 1. He repeated it and then continued 2, 3, 4, 8.

It was so cute. 1-2-3-4-8. Who cares about 5-6-7?

The games we play

Today is another one of those "I can't believe that God let me be Matthew's daddy" days. As I look at my precious little boy I just shake my head and wonder how in the world God picked me to be Matthew's dad. Man, this is beyond my wildest dreams. I love our little Matthew so much!

Matthew and I have a new game that we started playing in the past couple days. We cup our hands around the sides of our eyes, put or faces nose-to-nose, and he whispers "hide". We look at each other and hold really still until he decides "all done", and then he smiles or laughs before doing it over and over again.

It's so cute how this so simple make him smile or laugh. He makes me take a minute to see the little things around that I would never notice. He will see an airplane in the sky and say "air pain", or a squirrel running across the lawn.

How blessed I am to be Matthew's dad!

First 3-word sentence

This weekend went by really fast but we did have fun.

On Saturday we went to a mom-to-mom sale. We didn't find much, only a couple toys (which we probably didn't need, but daddy couldn't say no). Matthew now has a new Elmo that he can learn to "zip", "button", "verlco" and "tie". We also found a laptop made just for Matthew which provides loads of educational activities. Matthew couldn't wait to get into the car so that he could start playing with his new toys!

Yesterday Matthew said his first 3-word sentence "I help vacuum" as he helped mom push the vacuum back into the closet after she was finished. Matthew loves to play with his little vacuums and loves to watch mom or dad use the "big" vacuums.

27 months ago today

.....Our little Matthew was born.

On the 3rd of each month I have been taking some pictures of Matthew. I plan to do that each month until he turns 5 and then I will put all of the pictures together in a timeline to show how he has changed.

Each month he seems to get so much more cute!

Today Matthew got his first sucker when we went to the bank. He really loved it!

Picking up acorns is fun....especially when you get to throw them!

Spring Brake fun with Daddy

This week is spring break. Our babysitter is on vacation so Daddy took this week off work to play with Matthew. It's just not fair that I get to have this much fun while Michelle is at work........ But a dad's got to do, what a dad's got to do!

Today Matthew got the most adorable hair cut. After his nap we went outside and had a lot of fun. Daddy had fun using his new camera to get some great pictures of his favorite subject - Matthew!

I think Matthew loves his dog Lucky!
