Incredible deal on clothes for Matthew
This morning on the spur of the moment we decided to go to Grand Rapids to a store that sells lightly used children's clothes. When we arrived we found out that they were having a $1 sale on a lot of their clothing!!
We found a bunch of really cute shirts and pants. Some of them looked brand new and they all all were good brand names too! We ended up with 38 items for only $38. What a deal!

Playing outside today. It's 50 degrees!
This has been a really crazy winter this year. We have only had one day of snow a few weeks ago. It was about 2 inches deep and melted about 2 days later.
Today it was 50 degrees outside!!!! Matthew and daddy went outside for a little bit after work to have some fun. Tonight the weather is supposed to change and we just might get about 8" of snow tomorrow.

First "professional" haircut
Today Matthew got his first "professional" hair cut. He was a very good boy and he acted like he even enjoyed it. After the haircut we went and got his "2 year old" pictures taken.

Elmo says “Happy Birthday Matthew!”
Matthew had a great day today at daycare. He got to go outside for about 30 minutes and play in the snow. The daycare provider said that he was having so much fun that he didn’t want to come inside!
This evening Michelle, grandma and I got together at our house for a birthday cake and presents. Elmo was the theme this year complete with an Elmo cake, balloon and gift wrap. Matthew was a big boy and even blew out the candle on his cake! He did a very good job of feeding himself with a fork this year too! Grandma got Matthew an Elmo book and phone! Mom and Dad got Matthew a little bike for next summer!

Dear Matthew,
Two years ago today you were born in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. It was exactly 7 months later that mom and I got to hold you in our arms. I remember it like it was only yesterday, yet it was actually 17 months ago.
The love that I have for you I can’t even put into words. It’s so much more than what any words could ever say. Each night when I tuck you into bed I hold you in my arms and I say our prayers. Absolutely every night I thank God for allowing me to be your dad. I just can’t believe that He picked me to be your dad. I am so very blessed.
You’ve been home with mom and me for 14 months. I have to say that the last 14 months have been the best of my life. I love playing with you, holding you in my arms, tickling you and hearing you laugh, watching Elmo videos and reading you books. Mom and I are so happy that you are our son.
The past 14 months have flow by way too fast. It seems like just yesterday I was telling everyone you were 10 months old. I look at some of the early videos I took of you and I see how much you have grown and changed. You are turning into a little boy. It makes me happy, but it also makes me sad. I just don’t want you to grow up so fast. Your little smile and giggle are absolutely priceless. You are so incredibly cute!

Last night we got our first snowfall for the season. That's not normal for our part of Michigan.
So today Matthew and daddy went outside for a few minutes to play.
