Two years ago today

Two years ago today at exactly 3:33PM our first flight took off that would take us to Kazakhstan. We woke up at 5:30AM, 10 hours before that first flight. What an exciting day it was in our lives.

The journey over the following 40 hours was exciting and scary. Neither of us had ever experienced international travel and Michelle was terrified to fly.

Then on August 3, 2010, the day he turned 7 months old, we finally met the little baby boy would would become our son. How blessed we were!

I would love to go back and experience it all over again!

Matthew counts from 1 to 10

Today marks another milestone. Out of the blue we heard Matthew count from 1 to 10 twice – one number right after the next with out any help at all! But as always whenever he does something that would make a great video he gets shy when the camera comes out! Does he do that just so that I can’t have proof, or just to get me???

Any way this is the best of 9 attempts of me trying to get video of him counting from 1 to 10. I guess you’ll just have to believe me!

I just found out I'm going back to Kaz!!!

I just found out that in 294 days I'll be going back to Kaz to the city where Matthew was born!!!!!!!!!

Fun today at Country Dairy seeing the cows

Today we took Matthew to see the cows and tour Country Dairy. We got to go inside of the processing plant and see how they make milk and cheese, pet the calfs (some were just born this morning) and Matthew had all the chocolate milk he could drink (3 sippy cups full).

It was so much fun seeing the excitement on Matthew's face and hearing him say "cow, cow daddy!"

2 1/2 years old today!

Today Matthew is 2 1/2 years old!

Today also marks just 4 weeks until we left for Kazakhstan on trip #1 (7/31/10). We were so excited and counting down the days until we would finally meet our son for the first time.

Happy 2 1/2 years old Matthew! We love you!

Matthew's bounce house

It sure didn't take us long to break down and get Matthew his very own bounce house. It's not quite as industrial as the one that the family reunion yesterday, but I'm sure he will still like it. I can't wait till he gets up from his nap to see the look on his face!

His birthday is coming up on Tuesday (2 1/2 years old), so this will be a great gift! Yes, even though that mom doesn't realize this, I do still celebrate each "month" he gets older :-)
